Join us for twenty-four hours of deep-diving into the blockchain industry's most cutting-edge developer tools. At #dapphack you’ll build alongside fellow distributed app enthusiasts to turn an existing application into a distributed trustless app, or build a new application from the ground up. Participants can use the Blockstack application layer, Ethereum's development languages like solidity, lll and Serpent, or Hyperledger Fabric.

At the end of the event your team will present your work for 5 minutes to a panel of judges followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Prize bundles of tech goodies will be given out in three categories - blockstack, ethereum and hyperledger.

Sharpen your skill-set or learn blockchain stack development without having to start from scratch. Participants will use the APIs, SDKs and other tools from today’s leading innovators. How are teams formed? What if I don’t have a team? Team creation is flexible. You can team up with friends if you plan to come with buds or start (or join) a team the day of the event.

Will the teams own the code that is developed? Yes, you keep what you build.

Can I port my existing application to a trustless decentralized one? Quite possibly, but that depends on the track you choose (blockstack, ethereum or hyperledger) here on Devpost. Depending on the complexity of your application, it may be possible to fully decentralize the application layer using blockstack.

Do I need to know Solidity, C ++, and how blockchains work to participate? Your team should have several skilled programmers, but they do not need to have any prior experience with Solidity, C++ or blockchain technology. Basic to advanced concepts will be covered in tech talks, and participants should follow the setup instructions for their chosen track.

What hardware do I need? What should I bring? Your laptop, and at least one external monitor per group for peer programming.

Do I need to setup my development environment ahead of time? Yes! Once you pick which track you would like to go down (bitcoin, ethereum, hyperledger) you can follow the instructions to get setup ahead of time here on devpost.

Is food provided? YES! Enjoy 24 hours of drinks, snacks and meals.
